Subject: Forward Dane & Emergency Order #2
As you are likely aware, yesterday Public Health of Madison and Dane county issued the Forward Dane Plan and Emergency Order #2. These documents are hyperlinked for your review and provide guidelines for a phased reopening of our county. Village staff and I are working to align our planning and use the county’s framework as a guide to reopening our community. We appreciate your patience throughout the past months and look forward to a slow but steady return to normalcy.
Phase 1 of Forward Dane will not begin prior to May 26th. This delay gives us some time to ensure our planning is sound, focused on the safety of our residents, and aligned with our neighboring communities. I encourage all residents to review Emergency Order #2, as it can answer a number of questions you may have. The Phase Tracker below also provides a snapshot of what to expect. We will be opening community facilities as outlined in the order and as resources permit. Please remember that although facilities and services are reopening, the health threat to our community remains. Our continued adherence to increased hygiene, cleaning, and protective measures will safeguard us from an outbreak and resurgence of COVID-19.
Again, we thank all of you for your patience and support throughout these challenges. We truly appreciate being able to serve our distinguished community.
